Minnesota Senate Moves to Decriminalize the Female Nipple
On Monday, legislature introduced in the Minnesota state senate would decriminalize women exposing their nipples in public. The proposed legislation seeks to remove criminal penalties for solely exposing breasts under state law, by redefining “indecent exposure” and clarifying that the mere exposure of a human breast does not constitute lewd behavior. The law reads "Exposure of a human breast alone does not constitute lewd exposure, gross lewdness, or lascivious behavior." This effort apparently mirrors a similar change made by Minneapolis for its parks in 2020. The proposed law would take effect July 1, 2024.
